Wine-Specific Conditions

Legal Requirements

You must be 21 years of age or older, to order or receive alcoholic beverages from FreeSpirit Wine.  Receipt of shipments containing alcoholic beverages requires the signature of a sober adult (a person 21 years of age or older who is not intoxicated). Wines purchased from FreeSpirit Wine are not for resale, and are for personal consumption only.

Credit Card Charges

Orders are by credit card only. We accept Visa and MasterCard.  We may get PayPal soon...maybe.

Minimum Purchase

No minimum purchase is required.

States Authorized for Direct Shipment

Due to the ever-changing nature of wine shipping laws, we may be able to ship wines, directly or indirectly, to all states except MA, RI, PA, NJ and TN at this time.  So if you have that second home on the beach in Miami and live in Jersey...hey, ship to the Sunshine State!

Shipping Costs and Policy

Federal Express Ground is FreeSpirit Wine's carrier of choice.  Ground shipping is provided by Fed Ex at current market rates and is subject to change.  We do use UPS and also GSO (www.GSO.com), especially when shipping in California.

We do our best to utilize the most economical, efficient and quality conscious shipment of wine to our customer. We ship on Mondays and Tuesdays for most orders and will delay shipments to avoid temperature extremes. If your order needs to arrive by a particular date, such as for a gift or prior to travel, please call us directly. We charge our customer only what it costs us to have your wine packed and shipped to you safely and legally.  FreeSpirit Wine suggests being as mindful as possible about the enviroment when ordering wine. Basically, if you are going to order one bottle....why not go for at least two!   We are researching Carbon Neutral shipping practices as well, yet the nature of delivering a living product in glass does make this challenging.  Yet we are positive we will find something that is best for our wonderful planet.

Also, we strongly recommend delivery of wine shipments to a business, rather then a home address. Shipment of wine requires an adult signature. If an adult (21 years or older with proper identification of age) is not available to receive this package, additional attempts to deliver will be made. If these attempts are unsuccessful, your order will be returned to the distribution center it originated from, resulting in additional shipping costs.

In addition, all wine is sold in California and title passes to the buyer in California. We make no representation as to the legal right of anyone to ship or import wines into any state outside of California. By placing an order with us, you authorize us to release your wine to a third party carrier who will deliver your order to you.

Wine is a Delicate Commodity

Wine is a perishable commodity. Wine does not like extreme temperatures: hot humid summer and cold winter weather may adversely affect the condition of your wine during shipment.  We are not responsible for, and will not replace wine that is damaged by extreme weather conditions during shipment. When your wine order is picked up by the common carrier for delivery, responsibility for the wine becomes the responsibility of the purchaser.
